ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Prerequisite
There are no training prerequisites for this course, but you are expected to be proficient and safe with your firearm. Additionally, you are expected to be proficient and safe drawing from a holster. If you have never drawn from a holster before, we recommend taking our Holster class found HERE prior to taking the qualification class. In order to continue to draw from a holster at Recoil after the qualification, you MUST take our full holster class.
Course Details
This 2 to 3-hour qualification class satisfies current NJ Permit to Carry requirements. We will begin by doing a 15-30 minute holster refresher for everyone. You are expected to be proficient in drawing from a holster prior to taking the class. After the holster refresher we will go into the range to complete the CCARE qualification as mandated by the NJSP. After successfully completing the shooting qualification, all passing students will come back into the classroom while the instructors discuss NJ use of force through a slideshow. Upon successful completion of the class, you will be issued a SP 182 qualification form to submit with your application.
The shooting qualification is mandated by the NJ State Police. The qualification course includes drawing from a holster and shooting (10) rounds at 3 – 5 – 7 -10 – 15 yards.
