Course Details
This 3-hour qualification class satisfies current NJ Permit to Carry requirements. We will begin by learning how to safely draw and present to the target, and re-holster your firearm. This class consists of dry-fire training as well as training on the live range. After successfully completing holster draw in the classroom, we will move into the range and practice drawing from the holster while working on the CCW shooting qualification. We will complete the Civilian Carry Assessment and Range Evaluation as mandated by the NJSP & AG. Following the completion of the shooting qualification, we will return to the classroom to discuss NJ use of force laws for private citizens. Upon the conclusion of this class, you will be issued a S.P.182 qualification form from NJSP.
The shooting qualification was mandated by the NJ State Police and Attorney General. The qualification course includes shooting at a maximum distance of 15 yards from a holster. You must pass and hit at least 40 out of 50 shots (80%). You will also be required to demonstrate safety and proficiency during the duration of the qualification.
