We are back with some great news… Construction has begun!!!!!!!!!!! It has been a long 4 years, but we are finally beginning! We started grading the property for the building yesterday, & the plan is to do some final grading for the next few days and begin digging for the foundation & footings sometime next week. We are beyond excited to actually have some progress and to actually be able to share the news with you guys who have been so patiently waiting. It will be a 6-8 month project due to the complexities involved, but it WILL be worth the wait. I plan to add pictures weekly in order to keep everybody in the loop of exactly what is going on. Thanks everyone for your support and feel free to reach out if you have any questions at all.
We are HOPING to get a shovel in the dirt and begin construction in the next week or 2. We submitted the plans to the building department for permits in March and are hoping to get them approved very soon! Stay tuned for more updates. We plan on updating this page with pictures of the progress once we make some! Also, we have a Facebook page that we plan on posting tons of pictures once we start the foundation work.

We know that we have not been consistent with providing updates, however, for the past 3.5 years we have pretty much been jumping through hoops to get our project started. We plan to apply for building permits next week and begin construction sometime in March.
Over the past few months, we have been working with the leader in indoor range ventilation systems. They have designed a custom system for us that will provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our guests. Our range will be both heated and air-conditioned in order to provide a comfortable experience on the hottest and coldest of days.
We received a lot of inquiries about memberships. As of now, we do not plan on offering any pre-construction membership specials. We do not think it is a good business practice to take money from our customers until the day we open our doors due to the intricacies of a project to this scale. We hope you understand our decision. We will, however, offer discounted memberships for the first year if you sign up during our first month of operation. While we are still working on other membership options, we have received several inquiries regarding yearly memberships and have set our pricing as follows:
-Yearly Membership: $279 per year ($249 for the first year if you sign up during our first month of operation)
-Hourly Lane Rentals: $20 per hour
We received final site plan approval at the end of August and it was memorialized last night. We received our preliminary architectural plans and only have a few small changes to make. We are hoping to have the final set of plans in the next week or so. We are currently in the process of looking for a contractor to build our range. If you are a contractor or have a good recommendation, we are all ears. Please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the contact information. We are hoping to get started building in the next few months assuming we can get building permits in a timely fashion. We will definitely update this website as well as send out an update e-mail as soon as we have some more news. We are hoping to be up and running sometime in 2016, but can't get more specific than that until we choose our contractor. Thanks everyone for your continued support!
We are (finally) going for final site plan approval on August 25th!! We went before the Monroe Environmental Commission 2 weeks ago, and they didn't see any issues with our plan, so we got their approval. In addition, we are supposed to be getting our completed architectural plans next Wednesday. The firm that we used originally told us it would take 5 weeks for a set of completed plans, but as of next week, it will be 23 weeks. That being said, we are hoping to submit the plans directly to the town for building permits, and hope to have them approved and begin construction sometime in the fall. In the meantime, we have been working on site work. The property is now cleared of the trees that we needed to remove. In addition, the property has been rough graded and ready for a building. We will be sending out another update when we have more news, hopefully in a few weeks to let everyone know what is going on. If you have any questions about the range at all, feel free to reach out and I'll be sure to answer them. Thanks for your continued interest, and patience!
This has been the first update in a very long time, and I apologize for that. We have been working towards getting this thing going, but everything has taken so much longer than we had anticipated. We finally got our approval from the NJDEP and our engineer finally has all of our ducks in a row. We are hoping to get on the June zoning board meeting for final site plan approval. Some of you may have ridden past the property and noticed, for those who haven’t, we have begun clearing the land and making way for the building. The process proved to be much more time consuming than we had thought. We are still working towards getting this thing up and running and having all of you there to shoot in the range. Thanks for all of your patience and I will be updating once again when we are ready for final site plan approval. Also, for those who may be interested, we have RECOILNJ decals for car windows. Contact me at Updates@recoilnj.com if you are interested and we will get you one.
We just got back from SHOT Show in Las Vegas! This trade show and conference for firearms/shooting accessories is the biggest in the world with over 1,600 exhibitors. There, we were able to meet with vendors and get information regarding the latest in firearms, ammunition, and shooting accessories. We also attended a range development seminar where we learned even more about bringing the best features of successful ranges right to Monroe!
Preliminary site plan has been approved!
We are currently making a few small changes to the plans so that we can resubmit for final site plan approval. Once final site plan approval is complete, our plan is to start getting the site ready for construction as soon as possible.
Use variance has been approved!
